Fish List

A list of all the fish I wish I had. There isn't any useful fish keeping info on this page, as, while I've been interested in aquariums for many years, I have very little fish-keeping experience. Just little blurbs about why I like them and how I plan to keep them.

Honey Gourami

Trichogaster chuna
These are so fucking cute! I love their happy yellow colour. Honey Gouramis are a generaly peaceful, tropical fish considered good for beginners (which I am). I want to keep these in a small-ish community tank with some of the other members on this list.

White Cloud Minnow

Tanichthys albonubes
An understated cutie, hardy too. A small school will be going in the community tank with the gouramis. There's also a gold coloured variety, which I prefer, but I fear they would steal some of the spotlight.

Red Cherry Shrimp

Neocaridina davidi
I have a 5.6L jar from kmart currently cycling for four of these guys. I'm aiming for the Walstad method but I probably need more plants. I reckon 5.6L liters will be just big enough, but I'm still very worried it will be too small to stay stable and I'll them all :'❨

Amano shrimp

Caridina multidentata
I want to add a crustacean to the community tank. I've read amano shrimp are good cleaners and large enough to not get eaten by small fish

Betta imbellis

I love the glowy scale against the dark background. There's something very cool about the way wild type bettas stand in contrast to their heavily domesticated cousins. I'd like to keep one in a blackwater set up. Where I live, I can easily get free botanicals from native trees :❩

Kuhli Loach

Pangio kuhlii

worm fish

Mystery Snail

Pomacea bridgesii
To be fair, I'm not very familiar with snails and these are really the only ones I know anything about. Love their long tentacles.

Plakat Betta

Betta splendens
My first fishy love. These days, I'm far less enamored with domestic betta compared to a few years ago. When my aquatic obsession began, I dreamt I'd divide a 60L tank and keep two or three I like the red ones best.
